So what do I do with my time? Self admittedly, I do play MMO's. I reserve those times for late nights after the kids are in bed and either before or after a few frantic minutes of typing. To be honest, I spend a lot of my gaming time rehashing plots, rethinking characterization and inventing dialog. The games are mere moving pictures and flashy sounds that provide something for my fingers to do.
I also cannot keep a set writing schedule. My brain literally doesn't let me. If I set aside a specific time I end up staring blankly at the screen until my left eye twitches. Writer's Block sets in easily this way. Typically, I find myself extremely creatively possessed when I am nowhere near my computer or even a pad of paper, and am desperate to get an idea down before it wilts under the boring routine that is my day job.
I write whenever I can, for minutes, maybe hours, sometimes I do find a pad of paper or to reread what I'd written later and wonder if I was struck by a moment of stupidity.
My other hobbies include reading. Restricted these days to stolen moments between brain farts on writing and when my internet is down. I also spend lots of time with my kids and husband...today we went to our local fair, for example.
Oh, and there is laundry...maybe. Well, maybe tomorrow I'll get to it.
