A: Since about age 13 when I wrote a terrible short story on my mother's ancient typewriter, about a girl who gets lost in the woods. Yeah, it kinda sucked.
Q: Why do you write?
A: Because my brain will NOT shut up. I am constantly thinking characters, plots, dialog, what ifs, you name it. If I wrote down every idea I thought, I'd have hundreds of stories so far. I am only human so I have to pick and choose. I take notes on post its. Everywhere.
Q: Why Fantasy?
A: Because it stretches the limits of human reality. It gives us something to believe that can take us away from our sometimes not so nice reality....it honestly gives us hope. I want a dragon as a pet. In fact First Grader told me yesterday that his favorite animal is a Dragon. Yes! My son has joined Team Awesome!
Q: Your first full novel is finished, now what?
A: I am querying it as we speak, so that's in waiting land. I am excited! Book 2 is in final outline stage, but I won't work on it officially for a little bit.
Q: Any advice for writers?
A: Never give up. Follow your instincts, trust yourself! I had to put my writing on hold to be a mother, wife, student....but I never ever didn't believe I could do it. You will surprise yourself! Let your imagination take you places!
This is for my readers! Anyone else have questions for me? I'm an open book (pun intended) so please ask away!
