I am at a loss for topics to write about that aren't already overdone, done well, done to death, or shouldn't be done. So what do I write about? I am by nature a very reserved person, not open to discuss, but content to observe and store away information for later.
I also feel like I, as not yet published, should not butt into the heady world of Authors and the pro bloggers who rate their works. I have nothing to give to the writing world yet that can be reviewed, nor have I reviewed anything on a grande scale. I tend to go for simple, but honest statements, as I hate to be critical of what other's poured their heart and soul into writing. I don't read critically, I read for the pure, unashamed emotional joy that books give me. I cry, I yell, I throw books at walls, I reread and memorize brilliant quotes and at the end of it all I might simply say "Wow." when I couldn't put it down at 4 am and just had to finish it. My words are quiet and self contained, as if unable to break free into verbal or written praise that can encompass all of my feelings for it. So I settle for the simple and honest, "I loved it." or "It needed work."
However, at this point I feel the utterly hopeless need for my rambling, self amusing Blog to grow up a little. I read often, sometimes a couple of entire books a day, and I do feel bad for not doing "official" reviews on Amazon or Goodreads, but I will start small perhaps and review a book or two a month for a while here on my Blog. I will mess it up horribly, I will accidently offend, but I will do my best not to put my foot where the sun don't shine. I will aim for a book to review every other week starting Friday July 20.
See you Friday and check out the Blogs I follow at the top right of this section!
**Update: A flash fiction story of mine was accepted to an online lit mag!**
